Routine Oil Analysis
The oil circulating in the machine is a record of the machine's condition. Used oil analysis reflects the condition of the machine. Routine analysis helps detect wear and contamination early and determine the appropriate oil change timing before failure occurs.
Typical Parameters for Reference
| Parameter | Indicates | Reference Warning Threshold |
|---|---|---|
| Viscosity at 40°C and 100°C | Oil has become abnormally thin or thick | Deviates by more than ±10% from new oil |
| TBN Alkalinity | Remaining acid neutralization capacity | Below 50% of the initial value |
| TAN Acidity | Oil oxidation level | Increases by more than 2 mgKOH/g compared to new oil |
| Water Content | Coolant leaks, condensation | Above 0.1% for hydraulic oil |
| Wear Metals (Fe, Cu, Al, Cr) | Machine parts that are wearing | Depending on the machine type, compared against trends |
| Mechanical Impurities | Filtration efficiency, dust entering the system | According to ISO 4406 cleanliness requirements |
Laboratory

Samples are analyzed at the factory laboratory, which is accredited by AOSC and compliant with ISO/IEC 17025:2017. Results are delivered quickly, timely serving the customer's maintenance plan, accompanied by technical comments rather than just a table of data.
Process
- A technical staff member collects the sample on-site, recording the machine hours and operating conditions at the time of collection.
- Analysis at the laboratory.
- Send a report with recommendations: continue use, shorten the cycle, or inspect suspected worn parts.
- Repeat every 3-6 months to read trends rather than isolated readings.
Suitable for
- Factories with equipment running continuously, where sudden downtime causes significant losses.
- Fleet operators who want to extend oil change intervals while still controlling risks.
- Businesses suspecting that the current oil is unsuitable for the equipment,...
Routine technical service is free for customers using Techtrol products under a long-term usage contract.
